Story
Eleven years ago, Maame and Chibuikem met at a college activity fair. What Maame didn't know at the time was that Chibuikem felt an instant connection—something he had never experienced before.
He knew he had to get to know her.
Over the next year, they talked every day—whether in person, on FaceTime, or even on Skype—sharing stories about their pasts, their dreams for the future, and everything in between. They quickly became inseparable.
As time passed, they realized their bond had grown deeper than either of them could have imagined. Maame and Chibuikem began dating, traveled the world together, spent countless hours watching Housewives and Love Island, shared secrets and inside jokes, and simply enjoyed being together. They were in love, and it was undeniable.
Two hearts meant for each other, Maame and Chibuikem, are living proof that what God has joined together, nothing can ever separate—a true Match Made in Heaven.

If you're joining us from out of town, welcome to Chicago!
The city is served by two major airports, both offering plenty of flight options and easy access to downtown:
O'Hare International Airport (ORD)
Located about 17 miles northwest of downtown, O'Hare is one of the busiest airports in the world with extensive domestic and international connections. It's accessible by car, taxi, or the CTA Blue Line train, which runs directly into the city center.
Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)
Situated about 10 miles southwest of downtown, Midway is a smaller, convenient option—especially for guests flying with Southwest Airlines or other domestic carriers. The CTA Orange Line provides an easy ride into the Loop.
Both airports have plenty of transportation options, including rideshares, taxis, and public transit, to help you reach your hotel or event venue with ease.

Dress Code

Join us in celebrating this beautiful cultural ceremony by wearing Traditional African Attire. There are no specific color requirements—feel free to express your style and heritage—however, we kindly ask that guests avoid wearing green. If you're unfamiliar with traditional attire and would like some guidance or inspiration, reach out so we can share a few examples and suggestions closer to the event.
Wedding Ceremony & Reception
Our wedding ceremony and reception are Black Tie events. We invite guests to embrace formal elegance for the evening: women are encouraged to wear long gowns or sophisticated evening dresses, and men should wear tuxedos or dark suits with formal shoes. We can't wait to see everyone dressed to impress as we celebrate together!
